What a year!

These are just some of the dishes at a book-themed These are just some of the dishes at a book-themed potluck I had the good fortune to attend. The book was “Crying in H Mart” and Korean food was the dinner theme. There were two types of japchae, assorted banchan and dumplings, mung bean pancakes, kalbi, tofu stew, and three types of kimchi. And rice, of course. Someone even made hugimjajuk (black sesame pudding) for dessert. Amazing meal.

Of course I loved the bourbon Scott Paw cocktail a Of course I loved the bourbon Scott Paw cocktail at Hazie’s. With amaretto and blood orange, it is at once bracing and warming. Perfect on a chilly winter evening. The mezcal-cured salmon latkes, steak tartare and baby beet salad are soul-warming. This place has a great vibe!
